Ten years ago Todd Alexander and his partner Jeff had a successful and comfortable life in the city, but felt that something was missing. A trip to the Barossa Valley made them realise that there was a different and much more rewarding life to be had away from the city, on the land.
Once I was the poster boy for corporate success, but now Im crashing through the bush in a storm in search of a missing pig. How the hell did we end up here? Needless to say it took guts, determination and a lot of hard work.Todd's new memoir Thirty Thousand Bottles of Wine and a Pig Called Helga
tells this story.
The book chronicles our great highs and extreme lows and the many laughs we have had on the way - so you can either live vicariously through us, laugh at our many mistakes or maybe even be inspired to follow your own dreams. The book is inspired by the most adorable pig in the world Helga van Hoggett.
Today the couple run a successful vineyard and B&B business, keep farm animals (but not to eat) and make jams and jellies, and grow their own food.
Finally Todd has a use for all those cookbooks he obsessively bought from city bookshops but never had the time or inclination to read or cook from.
Come and hear Todd entertain and inspire you with his humorous and heartfelt account of his tree-change at Megalong Books on Sunday the 7th July at 6.30pm. Book at www.megalongbooks.com.au
